Public consultation meeting announcement

The Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Northern Region Development, in cooperation with the World Bank, is implementing the Montenegro Waste Sector Improvement Project (MWSIP). Within the framework of project preparation, a package of documentation has been prepared in accordance with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF). The documentation package that is currently subject to public disclosure and is in the process of preparation of the final ESF documentation includes:

  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the Remediation of the Solid Waste Disposal Site in the Zone of the Aluminium Plant in Podgorica (KAP)
  • Labour Management Procedures (LMP) for the Waste Management Sector Improvement Project in Montenegro
  • Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) for the Waste Management Sector Improvement Project in Montenegro
  • Environmental and Social Commitment Plan (ESCP) for the Waste Management Sector Improvement Project in Montenegro

For the purpose of informing the public and collecting comments, suggestions and opinions of interested parties, public consultations will be held regarding the above-mentioned ESF documentation. The objective of the public consultations is to ensure communication with stakeholders during the preparation phase of the final ESF documentation, in order to ensure that comments and suggestions are duly taken into account in a timely manner.

The public consultation meeting is going to be held as follows:
