Signing of the Declaration on Children, Youth and Climate Action

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Sports and Youth and President of the Council on Child Rights Dragoslav Šćekić will join UNICEF’s Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia and Special Coordinator for the Refugee and Migrant Response in Europe Regina De Dominicis, along with other officials and youth representatives to discuss the impact of climate change on children and recommended policies.

During the event, Deputy Prime Minister Šćekić will sign the Declaration on Children, Youth and Climate Action, launched during the COP25 summit in December 2019.

The Declaration outlines initial obligations for states to address the specific needs of children in climate policies and actions.

UNICEF will support the Government of Montenegro in fulfilling its obligations following the signing of this Declaration on 19 April 2024.
