Snežana Radović

Acting General Director for European Union

Snežana Radović was born in Podgorica on August 27th 1971. She has completed postgraduate studies in the Faculty of Political Sciences in Podgorica (during her postgraduate studies she was granted several-months long study visit to the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb, Croatia). She studied in the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić, Montenegro. She received the highest award Madara horseman I degree from the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.  

Ambassador Snežana Radović has been employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro since 2007. Now she is an Acting General Director for European Union.

She was Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Bulgaria in the period from December 2017 to February 2022. During the last five years she was Acting General Director for Bilateral Affairs; member of Government Commission for political system; Negotiator for Rule of Law Chapters 23 and 24; General Director for European Affairs; Deputy Chair of the Commission for European Integration of Montenegro; Deputy Chair of Working group for Public Administration (MNE and EU).

She was Counsellor in the Embassy of Montenegro to Hungary in the period 2009-2012. During her mandate in Hungary, she followed political developments in the country, covered consular and accounting affairs and actively followed the Hungarian presidency which took place immediately after Montenegro acquired candidate status for the membership in the EU. When needed she was Charge d’ affaires in the Embassy.

Prior to her mandate in Hungary, Radović was Counsellor for several years in the Directorate for NATO in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro. She was Secretary of the Commission for Inter-Sectoral Activities in the Partnership for Peace as well as a member of Coordination Team for Implementation of the Communication Strategy on Euro-Atlantic Integration of Montenegro. 

Previously, during the seven-year long engagement in the Public service of Montenegro - Radio and Television of Montenegro - she was in charge of international relations and was editor of the Desk for processing of foreign programmes and international exchange.

She speaks English fluently, speaks Bulgarian and understands Hungarian language. Also, she is learning French language (A2 at the moment).
