Tomorrow, 22 October, Montenegro will host the Berlin Process Leaders’ Summit, marking the conclusion of the country’s chairmanship of this important initiative for the year.

As part of its chairmanship programme, 26 events have been held, 14 of them at ministerial level — the highest number of activities organised during a single chairmanship in the history of the Berlin Process.

The chairmanship programme included ministerial meetings dedicated to foreign and internal affairs, the economy, agriculture, environmental protection and other areas important for regional cooperation and the European integration of the Western Balkans. In addition to high-level political meetings, a series of accompanying events brought together representatives of the academic and scientific communities, civil society, the business sector, the media and young people. This further strengthened the inclusiveness of the Berlin Process and created opportunities for broader public dialogue on the future of the region.

The final event of Montenegro’s chairmanship — the Leaders’ Summit, to be held tomorrow in Miločer — will be opened by Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The Summit will bring together all Western Balkan leaders, representatives of European Union Member States and international organisations.

European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos will also attend the Summit.

The official arrival of the leaders is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. Doorstep statements will be held in front of the Villa Queen’s Beach and will be open to all accredited media representatives.

The Summit is scheduled to begin at 10:20 a.m. The opening remarks by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz will be streamed live on the Government of Montenegro’s YouTube channel.

The leaders’ meeting itself will be closed to the media.

A press conference with Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. in the area in front of the Villa Queen’s Beach.

The official group photo of Summit participants is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in front of Villa Miločer. Accredited photographers will be permitted to cover the photo opportunity, weather permitting.

In the event of adverse weather conditions:

The press conference will be held at Hotel Maestral, which will also accommodate the media centre.

The group photo will be made available to the media via the Government of Montenegro’s Flickr account.
