Prime Minister Milojko Spajić emphasised in an interview with Yomiuri Shinbun that Montenegro can learn a great deal from Japan, particularly in the realm of utilizing modern technologies.

Prime Minister Spajić graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Saitama University, which is why his assumption of office has garnered significant interest among Japanese media outlets. His first interview was conducted with one of Japan's most widely circulated daily newspapers.

Prime Minister Spajić expressed admiration for Japan's advanced transportation infrastructure and its successful decarbonization efforts within the energy sector. Additionally, he noted Japan's effective waste management practices, signaling his intention to foster collaboration with Japanese companies to introduce new technologies to Montenegro.

In this context, the opening of an embassy in Tokyo is important, as the Prime Minister stated to the Yomiuri Shinbun that efforts will be made to open it in the shortest possible time.

During the interview, he emphasised the importance of implementing the idea of opening the 'Montenegro Business District,' which would be located between the center of Podgorica and the airport. The Prime Minister, comparing the district to Marunouchi (a district in Tokyo where offices of many leading Japanese and foreign companies are located), emphasised that the goal is to attract investments from international companies, expected to open their offices in Montenegro to serve the Balkans and Europe.

Towards the conclusion, the discussion shifted to Montenegro's influence as a NATO member on regional stability. Prime Minister Spajić concluded that Montenegro could play a significant role in fostering stability in the Western Balkans due to its excellent relations with all neighbouring countries.
