Prime Minister Milojko Spajić met with Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro Dominique Waag.

The discussion revolved around numerous projects implemented by the OSCE in Montenegro, as well as the Mission's role.

Strong support in strengthening institutions and democratizing society was emphasised.

Montenegro is grateful for the support you provide in areas such as human rights, rule of law, security sector, and media. We are pleased that we have been successfully implementing numerous projects for so long, said Prime Minister Spajić, adding:

We have initiated numerous reforms, some of which we have already completed, but we are aware that there is still much work ahead of us. We are very optimistic because we see that everyone is committed to achieving this goal.

The Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro noted the importance of appointments in the judiciary and informed the Prime Minister about the project to observe trials for organised crime and high-level corruption, based on which recommendations for improving the work of judicial institutions will be presented in June.

We have an excellent long-standing partnership with numerous institutions in Montenegro, and our goal is to assist key reforms, such as electoral and police reforms. We truly strive to make a difference, being agile and proactive in proposing new projects tailored entirely to Montenegro, said Waag.

The meeting also discussed preparations for drafting the next multi-year Strategy of the Mission, and specific steps will be determined after a meeting between OSCE representatives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The importance of regional cooperation and networking of institutions among Western Balkan countries was emphasised, which is one of the aspects included in the OSCE Mission's activities.
