At today’s meeting of representatives of the judicial and executive branches, it was agreed to continue systematic action against organized crime, high-level corruption and money laundering. The first concrete step will be the establishment of a Working Group tasked with drafting guidelines for monitoring the implementation of surveillance measures.

During the constructive discussion, held at the initiative of the Prime Minister, it was noted that significant progress has been made in the fight against organized crime through court verdicts against the highest-ranking public officials and leaders of organized criminal groups. However, it was emphasized that more intensive cooperation among competent institutions is necessary to ensure a more effective institutional response.

The meeting underscored expectations of a swift response from the European Commission regarding amendments to legislative solutions submitted in June last year, which will further strengthen the normative framework for the application of surveillance measures and their effective implementation in practice.

The meeting, held at the Government building, was attended by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, President of the Supreme Court Valentina Pavličić, Minister of Justice Bojan Božović, Minister of the Interior Danilo Šaranović, and Director of the Police Directorate Lazar Šćepanović.
