Tender announced for design and construction of Smokovac–Tološi highway section
Monteput has published a prequalification notice for the preparation of the main design and construction works on the Bar–Boljare highway, section Smokovac–Tološi.
The notice was published on the official website of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and will remain open for 45 days. The procedure is being conducted in accordance with EBRD rules and standards, which entails the application of international procedures and criteria in the selection of qualified bidders.
The Smokovac–Tološi section is approximately 10.5 kilometres long. It is planned to connect the existing Smokovac interchange with the future Tološi interchange, thereby improving connectivity of the capital city and creating conditions for more efficient functioning of the road network.
The route passes through challenging terrain, crossing the Širalija and Zeta river valleys, the railway line, existing road infrastructure, as well as the Velje brdo and Tološko polje areas.
The project envisages the construction of a highway with four traffic lanes and two emergency lanes, designed for speeds of 100 to 110 km/h, in accordance with TEM standards. Connections to the existing road network will be provided through grade-separated interchanges at Smokovac, Velje brdo and Tološi. The section will include the construction of several bridges and one twin-tube tunnel, with their total length accounting for approximately 20 per cent of the overall route length.
The publication of the prequalification notice marks the beginning of a new phase in the implementation of one of Montenegro’s most important infrastructure projects, aimed at improving transport connectivity, enhancing road safety and creating conditions for further economic development of the country.
