The first training course of WB3C

The first training course of Western Balkans Regional Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C‎)‎ started today.‎ The training courses of WB3C will provide ground to disseminate a cyber culture, develop the expertise of active practitioners and create a regional cooperation network. The centre will cover three main domains: Cybersecurity, Fight against Cybercrime and Cyber diplomacy.

‎Ambassador of France to Montenegro Christian Thimonier pointed out that the Centre’s training activities, which will be fully based on EU standards, will cover cybercrime, cybersecurity and digital diplomacy.

Ambassador of Slovenia to Montenegro Gregor Presker welcomed the fact that all countries in the region have accepted the initiative to strengthen cyber resilience, adding that education is the key.‎

‎It is my great pleasure and honor that today we are able to hold the first training course organised by the Western Balkans Regional Cyber Capacity Centre, said Minister of Public Administration ‎Marash Dukaj.‎

‎Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that this is a great day for Montenegro. Cybersecurity is one of the top priorities and many countries around the world feel the need to take cybersecurity to an even higher level. The Western Balkans Regional Cyber Capacity Centre will become a key place where knowledge and skills in the field of cybersecurity are acquired, he added.‎

‎Prime Minister Abazović expressed his gratitude to France and Slovenia for their cooperation and for recognising the importance of establishing the Centre.‎

‎France and Slovenia, in partnership with Montenegro, established this regional-scale training centre in Podgorica, with an European and strategic ambition. Support to the Western Balkans countries through increased cooperation and training in the field of cybersecurity and cybercrime will address pertinent regional shortcomings and contribute to the exchange of information and good practices between the regional stakeholders. The ultimate goal of this regional Center is to foster appropriation by the WB6 and to facilitate EU approximation through cooperation with EU Member states.
