VISA REGIME

Nationals of Montenegro are required to obtain a visa to enter Kazakhstan.
Visa may be obtained from the Embassy of Kazkhstan in Zagreb, the Republlic of Croatia. 

DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Montenegro and the Republic of Kazakhstan have very good and friendly relations, with mutual readiness for their further strengthening, especially in the field of economy.

26 July 2006 - The Republic of Kazakhstan recognized Montenegro as a sovereign and independent state.

16 January 2007 - Montenegro and the Republic of Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations.

On 23 September 2020, the Government of Montenegro appointed the Ambassador of Montenegro, resident in Moscow, Milorad Šćepanović, as a non-resident Ambassador to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Montenegro, with residence in Zagreb is Tolezhan Barlybayev (assumed office on 19 November 2018).

OFFICIAL VISITS

5 March 2015 - President of Montenegro Filip Vujanović met in Podgorica with the Vice-Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and Special Envoy of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Sergei Dijchenko.

November 11, 2008 - Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanović paid an official visit to Kazakhstan.

ECONOMIC COOPERATION

In the period January - July 2019, import amounted to EUR 195,155, while the value of export amounted to EUR 12,256.

For the first six months of 2019, FDI from Kazakhstan amounted to EUR 233,592.00. The total inflow of FDI from Kazakhstan to Montenegro in 2018 amounted to EUR 655,037.00,
