VISA REGIME

Nationals of Montenegro may enter, pass through and stay in Netherlands for up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.

DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Relations between Montenegro and the Kingdom of the Netherlands are friendly and partnership. The Netherlands has strongly supported Montenegro's membership in NATO, and also continuously contributes to strengthening political support for our European integration through significant expert assistance in the negotiation process with the European Union

The Kingdom of the Netherlands recognized the independence of Montenegro on June 16, 2006, and diplomatic relations were established on September 8, 2006.

At its session on 2018, the Government of Montenegro passed the Decision on opening the Embassy of Montenegro in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, based in The Hague. The official opening of the Embassy is expected in the coming period.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, stationed in Belgrade, is in charge of the diplomatic representation of the Netherlands in Montenegro, currently at the level of charge d'affaires.

BILATERAL HIGH LEVEL MEETINGS 

Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Bert Kunders, paid an official visit to Montenegro on April 18, 2017.

Minister of Foreign Affairs in European Integration of Montenegro Igor Lukšić paid an official visit to the Netherlands on September 3, 2015.

ECONOMIC COOPERATION

In 2020, total commodity exchange with the Netherlands amounted to EUR 41 million out of which EUR 39 million worth of imports, and EUR 2 million worth of exports. In 2019, total commodity exchange with the Netherlands amounted to EUR 45.2 million. 

In 2020, direct investments from the Netherlands to Montenegro amounted to EUR 18.8 million. According to data from 2019, direct investments from the Netherlands amounted to EUR 33,414 million.

In 2020, there were 929 tourists from the Netherlands who visited Montenegro, and this resulted in a total of 3,525 overnights stays. In 2019, there were 17,782 tourists from the Netherlands who visited Montenegro (who realized 48,896 overnight stays).
