Visa regime
Nationals of Kosovo may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.
Nationals of Kosovo may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 30 days, without a visa, with a valid identity card issued by the competent authority of Kosovo.
Diplomatic relations
Diplomatic relations between Montenegro and the Republic of Kosovo were established on January 15, 2010.
Currently, the Embassy of Montenegro in Republic of Kosovo is at the level of charge d'affaires until the appointment of the new ambassador.

Bilateral relations
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Duško Marković, paid a working visit to the Republic of Kosovo on May 29, 2019.
On March 21, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Srdjan Darmanović, paid an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo.
Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic on 15-16 February 2019, held separate meetings with the President of the Republic of Kosovo Hashim Thaci and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo Ramush Haradinaj, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dusko Markovic, on 14-15 February 2018 paid an official visit to the Republic of Kosovo.
On September 11, 2018, the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, paid an official visit to Montenegro.
On September 25, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Behđet Pacolli, paid an official visit to Montenegro.
Economic cooperation
In the period January-October 2021, trade amounted to 25,814 million euros, of which imports amounted to 7,374 million euros and exports 18,440 million euros. Trade in 2020 amounted to 30,093 million euros, of which imports amounted to 6,674 million euros and exports 23,419 million euros.
According to the Central Bank, in the period January-October 2021, foreign direct investment from Kosovo to Montenegro amounted to 5,891 million euros, while in 2020 FDI from Kosovo to Montenegro amounted to 4,549 million euros.
According to MONSTAT (Statistical Office of Montenegro) In the period January-August 2021, 31,627 tourists from Kosovo visited Montenegro, who spent 98,146 nights. In 2020, 8,197 tourists from Kosovo visited Montenegro, spending 33,033 nights. Data refer to collective accommodation.
