VISA REGIME
Nationals of Lithuania may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 90 days, with a valid travel document, without a visa.
Nationals of Lithuania may enter, pass through the territory of and stay in Montenegro up to 30 days, without a visa, with a valid identity card issued by the competent authority of Lithuania.
The relations between Montenegro and Lithuania are characterized by excellent political relations, and the frequency of political contacts is a confirmation of an exceptional mutual partnership. Lithuania strongly and continuously supports the European integration of Montenegro, both at the political and expert level.
Diplomatic relations
Lithuania recognized Montenegro's independence on 22 June 2006, and diplomatic relations were established on 18 July 2006.
The Embassy of Montenegro in Warsaw is in charge of the diplomatic representation of Montenegro in the Republic of Lithuania. It currently operates at the level of charge d'affaires a.i.
Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, on a non-resident basis, with the residence in Zagreb, Ms. Jurate Raguckiene, assumed this duty on 9 July 2020, by presenting his credentials to the President of Montenegro, Mr. Milo Đukanović.

Economic cooperation
In the period January - October 2021, total commodity exchange with Lithuania amounted to EUR 919 thousands. In 2020, the total commodity exchange with Lithuania amounted to EUR 1.77 million, out of which EUR 1.18 million worth of imports, and EUR 59 thousand worth of exports. In 2019, the total commodity exchange with Lithuania amounted to EUR 1.16 million, in 2018, EUR 961 thousand (exports EUR 78 thousand; imports EUR 883 thousand).
In the period January - October 2021, direct investments of Lithuania in Montenegro amounted to EUR 464 thousands. In 2020, direct investments of Lithuania in Montenegro amounted to EUR 467 thousand. In 2019, investments from Lithuania amounted to EUR 952.35 thousand. In 2018, 2017 and 2016, no investments from Lithuania were recorded, while in 2015 they amounted to EUR 0.3 million.
In the period January - October 2021, there were 4 159 tourists from Lithuania who visited Montenegro, and this resulted in total 20 485 overnight stays. In 2020, there were 139 tourists from Lithuania who visited Montenegro, and this resulted in total 479 overnights stays. In 2019, there were 3,786 tourists from Lithuania who visited Montenegro and this resulted in total 19,073 overnight stays. In 2018 - 4,520 Lithuanian tourists, 386 overnight stays, 2017 - 3,815 tourists, 20,717 overnight stays; 2016 - 1,934 tourists, 9,871 overnight stays).
