Visa regime

Nationals of Mongolia are required to obtain a visa to enter Montenegro.Visas may be obtained from diplomatic and consular posts of Montenegro.

Diplomatic Relations

Mongolia recognized an independent Montenegro on November 30, 2006, when diplomatic relations were established between the two countries.

On July 23, 2018, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Montenegro (based in Vienna), Ms. Gankhuurai Battungalag, presented  credentials to the President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović.

Political Contacts

No high-level and the highest level visits have taken place, so far.

Other meetings

Minister of Foreign Affairs Milan Roćen, in July 2011, on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Vilnius (Lithuania), met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Zandanshatar Gomboyav. Until April 2013, Mongolia chaired the Union of Democracies.

The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Ranko Krivokapić, on the sidelines of the XX OSCE Ministerial Council, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Mongol Uls (December 6, 2013).

Economic Cooperation / International Trade

Foreign trade between Montenegro and Mongolia in 2020 amounted to only € 934 (exclusively imports). Direct investments from Mongolia in 2020 were not recorded.

According to the data of "Monstat", the presence of tourists from Mongolia in Montenegro, in 2020, was not recorded.
