DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Relations between the two countries are traditionally good and friendly, based on close political, economic and other interests and common values. Estonia continuously provides political and professional support within the negotiations of Montenegro for membership in the European Union and is the first country to ratify the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Montenegro and the EU.

Estonia recognized Montenegro's independence on June 12, 2006, and diplomatic relations were established on June 13, 2006, making Estonia the first country with which Montenegro established diplomatic relations.

The Embassy of Montenegro in Warsaw is in charge of the diplomatic representation of Montenegro in the Republic of Estonia. It currently operates at the level of charge d'affaires a.i.
