PM Marković meets with leadership of Municipality of Žabljak: Sleeves need to be rolled up, concentrate yourselves on each project

Prime Minister Duško Marković told today the leaders of the Municipality of Žabljak that almost EUR two million which were allocated for this Municipality from this year's capital budget point to ambitious development plans and that the goal is to spend every foreseen euro, i.e. the plans must be fulfilled. "Concentrate yourselves on each project," PM Marković said to the management of the Municipality of Žabljak.
The Prime Minister said that his aim is to see changes in Žabljak by 2020 in order to become one of the most prestigious winter destinations in the region.
We have based the development of Žabljak on real principles. We need to roll up our sleeves and get down to work. The Government will encourage municipalities. We start with this approach in Žabljak, but in the next weeks we will move to every municipality," Prime Minister Marković said.
All development projects were discussed at the meeting – especially those in the field of tourism, agriculture, water supply and infrastructure.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Financial System and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Milutin Simović pointed out that this year's agro-budget is bigger by EUR 26.8 million, that financing is more extensive and fairer, that certain criteria have been lowered and that Žabljak must seize the opportunity.
The meeting concluded that the Recycling Centre in Žabljak is a state project and that the municipalities of Pljevlja, Mojkovac and Šavnik need to be fully involved. In that sense, meetings with the leaders of these municipalities were announced in order for the Recycling Centre to become fully operational.
The leadership of the Municipality of Žabljak highlighted, among other things, the need for better accessibility. In this sense, it was agreed to draft a road plan from Vojnik to Šavnik in order to avoid the tunnel and the current part of the road that slows down and complicates the accessibility of Žabljak.
Minister of Sustainable Development and Tourism Pavle Radulović, Director of Directorate of Public Works Almer Kalač, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment and Development Fund Zoran Vukčević, President of the Municipality of Žabljak Veselin Vukićević, President of the Municipal Assembly Vidoje Tomčić, Vice President of the Municipality Vasilije Jakšić, Chief Administrator of the Municipality Milika Ostojić, and Director of Durmitor National Park Elvir Klica also attended the meeting.
