PM Marković: Development role of MORiT is significant, even greater and stronger in 2020

Prime Minister Duško Marković, earlier today held a meeting with the management of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism (MORiT), with whom he discussed the achieved results and priorities and tasks of this Ministry in the upcoming period.

During the previous year, the Government and its departments achieved remarkable results that are reflected in the basic parameters of economic growth, reduced unemployment rate, macroeconomic indicators, which at the same time rank Montenegro among countries that have a stable and sustainable financial system with a serious international financial rating, Prime Minister Marković stated. Pointing out that Montenegro also has a very high level of foreign direct investment, he said that the role of Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism was also crucial for the result of our country as a prestigious tourist and investment destination, which must be even greater and stronger in 2020. 

Prime Minister Marković particularly expressed satisfaction with this year's results in the area of tourism and said that it is necessary to continue the growth rate in the next year.

Commenting on the area of spatial planning and planning, Prime Minister Marković noted that Montenegro is distinguished by valuable space that needs to be responsibly and smartly managed, and all activities must be in line with the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Structures. In this regard, he stated, it is also necessary to strengthen the inspection control of construction control in the field and continue improving the personnel capacities of the urban and construction inspection of the Ministry.

Amendments to the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Buildings must be adopted as soon as possible, which will ultimately result in a simplified procedure, primarily legalisation, but also in other areas that this law treats, the Prime Minister announced.
