Abazović appointed as member of IFFSE Advisory Board
Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović has been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Freedom of Faith and Security in Europe (IFFSE).
As someone who tries to affirm cosmopolitan ideas in his academic engagement, I consider this one of the greatest professional successes in my career. I am honored to join some of the greatest names in social thought in Europe today. I hope that with my commitment, I will contribute to getting at least a little closer to the goals that IFFSE stands for, Abazović pointed out on the occasion of his appointment.
IFFSE is a prestigious institution that promotes reconciliation, coexistence and solidarity between different religions and people, with a special focus on security.
In addition to DPM Abazović, the IFFSE Advisory Board, which has ten members, also includes:
- Andrea Riccardi, founder of the Community of Sant'Egidio;
- Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, President of the Conference of European Rabbis (CER) and Chief Rabbi of Moscow;
- Manuel Valls, former Prime Minister of France;
- Cem Özdemir, Minister in the new German Government and former Co-Chair of the Green Party of Germany,
- General Amos Gilead, Executive Director of the Institute for Policy and Strategy (IPS) and for many years one of the most important people in the Israeli security sector and a negotiator in peace processes;
- Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Heiner Bielefeldt, Director of the German Institute for Human Rights;
- Alexander Graf Lambsdorff, Deputy Leader for International Affairs of the liberal group (FDP) in the German Bundestag;
- Yahya Pallavicini, President of the COREIS, Italian Islamic Religious Community
- Archbishop Antje Jackelén, Professor of Systematic Theology and Science and Archbishop of the Church of Sweden.
