Abazović honored as honorary citizen of New Orleans, awarded the Honorary Ambassador of Louisiana

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović was bestowed with the prestigious title of Honorary Citizen of New Orleans today, accompanied by the presentation of a Key to the City. Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards, along with his spouse, welcomed Prime Minister Abazović upon his arrival in New Orleans.

During a working luncheon, attended by honorary consuls from the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Japan, Iceland, Mexico, Panama, Albania, Finland, Ukraine, Sweden, Italy, Bulgaria, Austria, Uruguay, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, the Czech Republic, the Philippines, Thailand, Brazil, and Latvia, on behalf of the Mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, Prime Minister Abazović was honored with the distinction of Honorary Citizen of the largest city in the U.S. state of Louisiana, as a gesture of warm welcome.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Abazović was awarded the title of Honorary Ambassador of Louisiana for his efforts in strengthening the ties between Montenegro and Louisiana.

Addressing the consular network during the luncheon, Abazović expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and the recognitions bestowed upon him by the authorities, emphasizing that it is not the size of a country that matters, but the values it upholds and promotes.

Montenegro is a friendly nation that seeks to maintain good relations with all countries in the world. We are inclusive people with a non-discriminatory approach, a country that is safe and secure for everyone, stated the Prime Minister, highlighting Montenegro's commitment to these values.

Abazović also noted that Montenegro is currently a country with the highest living standards and parameters in the region, with the greatest prospects of becoming the next EU member state.

Discussing the significance of tourism in Montenegro and the government's efforts to introduce the United States to the tourism potential of the country, creating opportunities for improved connectivity, Prime Minister Abazović expressed confidence that American tourists visiting Montenegro would carry back positive impressions.

Montenegro is the only country in the world declared as an ecological state by its constitution. We want to build and present Montenegro as a green destination, concluded Prime Minister Abazović.
