Abazović meets Ambassador of Italy

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with Ambassador of Italy to Montenegro Luca Zelioli. The officials assessed that friendly relations and high-level political dialogue best reflect the bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Abazović said that Montenegro is focused on reforms in several sectors. When it comes to bilateral relations with Italy, Montenegro expects the greatest support and assistance in the reform of the judiciary, the establishment of the rule of law, the area of freedoms and security.

Italy, as it was said at the meeting, has already expressed its readiness to provide investigative software for monitoring and confiscation of property (SIDDA/SIDNA), which was developed by the Italian Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate (DNA).

The meeting stressed the intensive cooperation in the field of internal affairs and the need for even stronger cooperation between the ministries of internal affairs and the police of the two countries, especially in the field of readmission, emergency situations, border security and the fight against organised crime.

The two officials agreed that the great potential for cooperation between the two countries was recognised in the areas of sustainable development and environmental protection, health, agriculture, science and education.
