Abazović meets Mayor of Rome

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with Mayor of Rome Roberto Gualtieri.

The two officials agreed that Montenegro and Italy cherish traditionally friendly and neighbourly relations, adding that there is room to significantly improve relations in the coming period, especially in the field of cultural and economic cooperation.

The Prime Minister particularly emphasised Montenegro's desire to join the EU, stressing Italy's support in that process. He added that two countries share the same foreign policy principles and ideas.

Mayor Gualtieri pointed out that Rome wants closer cooperation with Podgorica and that business, tourism and youth cooperation are a great chance to bring the two capitals closer, stressing the need for better air connectivity between two cities.
