Abazović meets President of Bulgaria: Our country will be a European success story

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, who is paying an official visit to Montenegro. The officials stated that Montenegro and Bulgaria have good cooperation. Our country will be a European success story, said the Prime Minister.

Our two countries have friendly relations, and this visit confirms the strong partnership between the two countries and the commitment to make cooperation and relations even better, said PM Abazović.

Every country is important, regardless of its size. Montenegro is the most advanced country in the EU enlargement process, said President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev.

Abazović thanked Bulgaria for the political and expert assistance provided to Montenegro on its European path and expressed the expectation that they will continue to provide such assistance in the future.

The Prime Minister said that Montenegro is a reliable partner of both the EU and the NATO and is fully committed to all obligations arising from membership and partnership in those organisations.

Therefore, we believe that increased representation of the Western Balkans on the NATO agenda, as a strategically important region for the alliance, is of crucial importance for this region. Likewise, the joint, coordinated engagement of NATO and the EU in the Western Balkans is crucial for maintaining this region on the European and Euro-Atlantic course, as well as for its long-term stability, said Abazović.

He pointed out that Montenegro remains strongly committed to good neighbourly cooperation in the region, as evidenced by Montenegro's participation in more than 30 regional initiatives.

Abazović said that Montenegro expresses interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Bulgaria, especially when it comes to investments, which are currently at a relatively low level.
