Montenegro remains committed to the key principles of foreign policy – its NATO membership and accelerating European integration, said Prime Minister Dritan Abazović at the meeting with President of Estonia Alar Karis on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The two officials stated that today, Montenegro and Estonia, as NATO allies, are cooperating within the framework important for wider, global security, whose importance is more visible than ever.

In a changed security situation, Europe must adapt to the new reality and strengthen NATO's deterrence and defence posture on its eastern flank, Abazović and Karis agreed.

Furthermore, they stated that the two countries have traditionally friendly relations, because Estonia is the first country with which Montenegro has established diplomatic relations and the first country to ratify the Stabilisation and Association Agreement between Montenegro and the EU, which is a good incentive to intensify political dialogue and exchange visits at the highest level.
