Prime Minister Dritan Abazović is set to participate in the 10th Berlin Process Summit in Tirana today. During the summit, he will sign two documents: the Agreement to establish the Western Balkans Cyber Capacity Centre (WB3C) and the Regional Agreement on Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications, focusing on general practice nurses, veterinarians, pharmacists, and midwives within the context of the Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA).

This year's summit, the first to be held in the Western Balkans, is dedicated to exploring the progress, challenges, and prospects of regional integration in the context of current events. The discussions will also revolve around the benefits that the regional states can derive from European mechanisms and programmes, which play a pivotal role in Europe's strategic autonomy on a global scale.

Given that regional cooperation and EU accession rank among Montenegro's key foreign policy priorities, Prime Minister Dritan Abazović's participation offers an opportunity to highlight the country's achievements within the Berlin Process. It emphasises the importance of steadfast collaboration and regular communication with neighbouring countries within this initiative and maintaining synergy and good relations with neighbouring states.

In addition to the leaders of Western Balkan countries, the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, and others will be participating in the summit.

The Berlin Process, launched in 2014, is a regional initiative aimed at accelerating the integration process of Western Balkan countries through the intense development of multilateral relationships with EU member states. It is based on six key areas: the rule of law, security and migration, connectivity, regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations, digital agenda, and socio-economic development.

The annual Western Balkan leaders' summits are specifically focused on infrastructure connectivity and economic growth in the region. The Berlin Process has resulted in a series of essential declarations and agreements that address the issues related to the region's integration into the European community.
