Announcement of the Public Call for the selection of a new Registration Agent for the national Internet domain ".ME"

The Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism informs the interested public that the Public Call for the selection of a new Registration Agent for the national Internet domain ".ME" will be announced in the next month.

The ".ME" domain is a national Internet top-level domain (ccTLD) for Montenegro, globally available for registration without any restrictions. ".ME" became available for registration in July 2008 and was immediately recognized as a domain that has a personal touch, which is why it is attractive to both companies and individuals around the world. Therefore, we expect an excellent response to the Public Call, which would certainly include world-renowned companies and their consortia, as well as the possibility of applying through a consortium with one of the domestic companies. Given the competence, the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism will promptly inform the public and interested parties about the announcement and implementation of the Public Call for the selection of a new Registration Agent of the national Internet domain ".ME", and the selection criteria will be evaluated in relation to the quality of the financial offer and references of the Registration Agent.

By choosing a new Registration Agent of the national Internet domain ".ME", the best valorization of the use of the national Internet domain ".ME" is expected under the conditions defined by the contract, international standards and rules valid in the global Internet community. In this sense, in the coming period, a better position, improved conditions, continued constant growth in the number of registered ".ME" domains and an approach to the sale of Premium domains that will produce the desired results are expected, which would ultimately be reflected in an increase in the total income of the state from this extremely a significant resource. In addition, the registration and use of the national Internet domain ".ME" will, as before, be in accordance with the most modern solutions and standards of Internet technologies and will follow the modern solutions of all the relevant Internet domains dominant on the global market.
