Bečić: Government approves MoI to announce public call for 500 positions in Police Directorate

At its 125th session held today, the Government of Montenegro adopted the necessary decisions and granted approval to the Ministry of Interior to initiate a special recruitment procedure and announce a public call for 500 positions in the Police Directorate in the rank of junior police officer, in accordance with the adopted amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs.
The largest number of positions will be allocated to the Border Police Sector, taking into account operational needs, as well as obligations arising from Montenegro’s European integration process, particularly within negotiating Chapter 24.
All candidates under the age of 32 who possess at least a level IV qualification framework diploma and fulfil other legal requirements will be eligible to apply under the public call.
Alongside the continuous improvement of the legislative framework and the development of new legislative initiatives, the process of digitalisation and modernisation of operations, the removal of all unlawful influences from the security sector in accordance with legal mechanisms, as well as the motivation and recognition of professionals within the system, following two public calls for young university graduates, efforts to address the inherited shortage of police personnel and implement staff renewal continue through opening opportunities for young people and new energy.
All these activities are aimed at strengthening capacities, accelerating the European integration process, and ensuring a greater presence of police officers within local communities, on the streets, in residential areas and neighbourhoods, which represents an important preventive, intelligence and security component.
“We are strengthening capacities, reinforcing institutions and building a clean, resilient and accountable security sector that serves exclusively the State of Montenegro and its citizens.”
