British Ambassador pays a farewell visit to Prime Minister

British Ambassador to Montenegro ‎Karen Maddocks‎ paid a farewell visit to Prime Minister Dritan Abazović.‎

‎Prime Minister Abazović thanked the Ambassador for her hard work on the implementation of numerous activities that improved cooperation between the two countries. He expressed appreciation for the support provided to Montenegro in the field of the rule of law and the fight against organised crime, especially the prevention of cigarette smuggling.‎

‎Abazović praised the comprehensive cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, which, as he said, will be further strengthened by the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed in March 2023.‎

‎Ambassador Maddocks expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the Government of Montenegro to numerous British initiatives. She pointed out that the two countries share the same values and goals, and agreed that strong cooperation was achieved in the area of the rule of law, as well as in the field of strengthening Montenegro's cyber capacities.‎

‎The two officials exchanged views on the importance of regional cooperation, assessing that Montenegro can make an important contribution in this field.‎

‎The Prime Minister wished the Ambassador success in her future endeavours.‎
