CIRT at the International Cyber Exercise - Cyber Games 2025

Representatives from CIRT participated in the inaugural edition of Cyber Games 2025, an international competition focused on cybercrime and digital forensics. The event took place from May 20 to 23, 2025, in Kuala Lumpur. It was organized as part of the CyberSEE project and in collaboration with the CyberEast+, CyberSouth+, GLACY-e, and Octopus projects, receiving strong support from INTERPOL and Malaysia's National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA).
The event gathered approximately 140 experts from 50 countries, offering a unique opportunity to share knowledge and experiences through competitions and simulations of cyber incident scenarios. Participants addressed complex challenges related to ransomware investigations, focusing on areas such as open-source intelligence (OSINT), incident response, digital forensics, and cryptocurrency tracking.
CIRT’s involvement in this event signifies a major contribution to strengthening national capabilities in the fight against cybercrime and an important advancement in fostering international cooperation in this area. Such exercises allow participants to enhance their technical skills while also promoting the implementation of the instruments outlined in the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention).
Building on the success of the first edition, the Council of Europe, through C-PROC, will continue to support countries worldwide in enhancing their justice system capacities regarding cybercrime and electronic evidence. New editions of the Cyber Games are already scheduled for 2026 and 2027.
