European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi will visit Montenegro on Tuesday, 4 May 2021, on the occasion of the first delivery of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccines to Montenegro, financed by the EU.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić and Commissioner Varhelyi will visit vaccination point in the Music Centre in Podgorica at 13:00, after which they will give public statements at 13:15.

A total of 42,000 doses of BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine will be delivered to Montenegro from early May to August. Vaccine deliveries are funded by a financial assistance package worth EUR 70 million adopted by the European Commission in December 2020 to help Western Balkan partners cover the cost of buying vaccines. The distribution of vaccines, whose purchase is financed by the EU, was made possible by Austria by concluding legal arrangements with the manufacturer and partners from the Western Balkans.
