DPM Abazović meets with Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt

Deputy Prime Minister Dritan Abazović hosted President of the Conference of European Rabbis and Chief Rabbi of Moscow Pinchas Goldschmidt.

Abazović and Goldschmidt discussed issues of religious freedom and the concept of a multicultural society, as well as forms of state cooperation with the Jewish community.

Montenegro is a pacifist state that strives to promote all universal values. Our society is committed to multiculturalism. There is never enough dialogue, so it is important that we share experiences and find the best models of cooperation and coexistence, Abazović pointed out.

Rabbi Goldschmidt, who is paying his first visit to Montenegro, spoke about the importance of small states in the context of important international decisions and expressed satisfaction with Montenegro's friendly attitude towards the Jewish community.

Goldschmidt is a member of numerous organisations that promote interfaith dialogue, and is considered one of the most influential religious leaders in Europe.
