DPM Ivanović welcomes the election of a Constitutional Court judge
Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović commented on the election of a judge of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro, highlighting the importance of the consensus reached in Parliament and its contribution to strengthening institutions and advancing the country’s European path.
The Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Nikola Mugoša on his election as a judge of the Constitutional Court, as well as the members of the Parliament of Montenegro who, by an overwhelming majority, supported this proposal.
In doing so, they demonstrated responsibility, maturity, and a readiness for dialogue and compromise. The election of a Constitutional Court judge represents an important step toward strengthening institutions and sends a strong signal to the European Union that the rule of law - closely linked to the accession process - is taken seriously in Montenegro, the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
He also expressed his expectation that the achieved consensus would serve as a model for other important decisions in the period ahead.
I hope that today’s consensus will be an example for similar decisions in the coming year, so that we can complete the process of European integration by the end of 2026, he concluded.
