At the initiative of the Chair of the Coordination Body for the Harmonisation and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision and Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorović, a working meeting was held with President of the Municipality of Žabljak Radoš Žugić, dedicated to preparations for the upcoming summer tourist season.

Priorities in the implementation of the Action Plan for the 2026 season were discussed, with a particular focus on the coordination of state and local inspection services. It was agreed that during the peak season, from 1 July to 9 September, inspectors will work in five shifts, while teams stationed in Žabljak and Kolašin will cover all municipalities in northern Montenegro. In addition to stationary teams, mobile units will also be engaged to enable faster response in the field.

Special emphasis was placed on combating the grey economy, including the suppression of unregistered accommodation, undeclared labour, and illegal service providers. Participants highlighted the importance of intensified supervision of entities engaged in providing accommodation services, rafting activities, and construction sites, where inspection authorities will act in a non-selective and transparent manner.

Žugić informed the Coordination Body about the challenges Žabljak faces during the tourist season, particularly in relation to illegal business activities and pressure on local infrastructure. It was agreed that continuous cooperation between local and state services is key to improving the quality of the tourism offer.

The Coordination Body and the Municipality of Žabljak will continue joint activities aimed at the effective implementation of the Action Plan and a successful 2026 summer tourist season.
