Minister Milutin Butorović pays a working visit to Ulcinj: Coordinated inspection supervision for a successful tourist season

President of the Coordination Body for Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision and Minister in the Government of Montenegro, Milutin Butorović, together with his associates, paid a working visit today to the Municipality of Ulcinj, where he met with Municipality President Genci Nimanbegu, and his team in order to define key steps ahead of the upcoming summer tourist season.
The focus of the meeting was on establishing stricter order in areas that directly affect the quality of the tourism offer. The key inspection priorities in Ulcinj will be the suppression of the grey economy in accommodation services. One of the biggest challenges identified is the issue of unregistered private accommodation. In the coming period, inspection services will place special emphasis on identifying and bringing into legal frameworks all entities providing these services without proper registration. Minister Butorović emphasized that zero tolerance will be applied to non-compliance with regulations related to tax obligations. The goal is to ensure a level playing field for all businesses operating in accordance with the law. Special attention will also be devoted to monitoring the lawful charging of beach equipment. Inspections will oversee whether beach concessionaires comply with rules regarding areas that must remain free of beach equipment, as well as the transparency of price lists and the issuance of fiscal receipts.
Our goal is not only repressive action, but the establishment of a system in which the rules apply equally to everyone. Ulcinj has enormous tourism potential, and coordinated action by state and local inspection bodies will ensure that this potential is realized through legal channels, to the satisfaction of both residents and the guests who choose the Montenegrin coast for their vacation, he added.
This visit is part of a broader plan to tour coastal municipalities, through which the Government of Montenegro reaffirms its determination to ensure a stable and well-regulated business environment during the most important part of the tourist year through strong coordination of inspection authorities.
