Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović received today the vaccine against COVID-19 at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro, signaling the official start of vaccination of health workers exposed to COVID-19 patients in the largest health institution in Montenegro.

After the vaccination, Minister Borovinić Bojović announced that the second shipment of 5,000 doses of Russian vaccine will arrive at the Podgorica Airport at 14:30 on Thursday. The donation of 30,000 doses of Chinese vaccine departs from Beijing on 27 February, while, as she stated, the second tranche of vaccines donated by Serbia will arrive on time for revaccination of health workers and others.

The Minister of Health pointed out that vaccinations are being delivered according to priority groups and explained how people who belong to priority groups can apply for vaccination. She stated that another 50,000 doses of Russian vaccine were ordered for the second quarter of the year. Furthermore, negotiations are underway for 150,000 doses of China's Sinopharm vaccine, 150,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine, as well as 80,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine.

Vaccination of the general population, as the Minister of Health said, will begin immediately after the immunization of priority groups.
