Ibrahimović-Lipavský: Czech Republic – A friend and partner, strong support for Montenegro’s further EU Integration

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro Mr. Ervin Ibrahimović met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský, who is on an official visit to Montenegro.
The meeting reaffirmed the Czech Republic’s strong support for Montenegro’s swift integration into the European Union, as well as the commitment of both countries to continuously strengthening their bilateral cooperation.
Both sides confirmed their dedication to further enhancing friendly relations and high-level political dialogue.

Minister Ibrahimović expressed gratitude to the Czech Republic for its steadfast and consistent support for Montenegro’s EU integration process. “The Czech Republic, as our true friend, recognizes the geostrategic importance and the necessity of a clear European perspective for the Western Balkans. This is also the best and most secure path toward long-term stability and prosperity for both the region and Europe,” he stated.
The strong alliance between Montenegro and the Czech Republic within NATO was also emphasized. “In times of growing global challenges, working together to uphold our alliance, stability, and security is of paramount importance. Montenegro remains a committed and reliable ally,” Ibrahimović affirmed.

Minister Lipavský highlighted the excellent relations between the Czech Republic and Montenegro, stating that “our two friendly nations and allies share common values, goals, and interests.” He expressed satisfaction with the pace of high-level political dialogue and pointed to numerous opportunities for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields, including tourism, economy, defense, and cybersecurity.
Reaffirming the Czech Republic’s strong support for Montenegro’s European path, Lipavský stated that “Montenegro’s EU membership is a shared interest.” He underscored the importance of continuing reforms in key areas and assured that the Czech Republic will remain an advocate for Montenegro’s gradual accession to the EU, based on individual progress, while providing expert and political assistance to accelerate the country’s EU integration.

The meeting also touched upon potential avenues for enhancing economic cooperation, emphasizing the importance of creating favorable conditions for closer ties between Montenegrin and Czech business communities.
The interlocutors exchanged views on current regional and global challenges and expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of bilateral relations. They voiced confidence that Montenegro-Czech cooperation will deepen further in the coming period, bringing mutual benefits to the citizens of both countries.
