Ivanović: Statements by European officials best refute skeptical comments

Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanović commented on the statement of European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who emphasized that Montenegro, if it continues to achieve good results, could become a member of the European Union in 2028.

Very clear and explicit positions of European officials regarding Montenegro’s European perspective serve as the best confirmation of the dedicated and effective work of the Government and other institutions, as well as of the European Commission’s determination to recognize and support the achievement of the shared goal – Montenegro as the 28th member of the European Union by 2028.

At the same time, such statements also, at the very least, directly refute all those skeptical and often ill-intentioned remarks that we so frequently hear from opposition politicians and other commentators regarding the alleged lack of ability and will of the current Government and parliamentary majority to complete the negotiation process by the end of next year, concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
