Ljubomir Mišurović

State Secretary

Ljubomir Mišurović was born on July 25, 1967 in Podgorica. He graduated on the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade - Department of Slavic Studies (Czech Language and Literature). In 1999 he completed postgraduate studies at the Mediterranean Academy for Diplomatic Studies in Malta - MEDAC.

In the period from 1996-1997, he was an intern in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, where afterwards he became an advisor.

From 2001-2002. he was advisor in the Trade Mission of Montenegro in Washington, D.C., after which he became an independent advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

In 2003, he was appointed the Chief of the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, and in 2004, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

In the period from 2007 to 2010, he was Minister Counsellor to the Embassy of Montenegro in London.

Since 2010, he was the Chief of the Diplomatic Protocol to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and in 2013 he was appointed non-resident ambassador of Montenegro to Ukraine, Georgia and Armenia.

In September 2015, he was appointed the Chief of the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, and from January 2016 to January 2020, he was resident Ambassador of Montenegro to Ukraine and to Armenia and Georgia, on a non-resident basis, based in Kiev.

From February to July 2020, he was acting Director General for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since August 2020, he held the position of Chief Diplomatic Inspector in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In December 2020, he was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fluent in English and Czech.

He is married and has two children.
