Minister of Finance Aleksandar Damjanović, along with his team, met with the management of the international company WhiteBIT, headquartered in Spain. They discussed the potential for the development of blockchain technologies in Montenegro and the creation of an appropriate legislative framework for cryptocurrency trading.

WhiteBIT CEO Volodymyr Nosov highlighted company's status as one of the largest holdings in Europe with extensive experience in crypto business. He emphasised the importance of developing various services that advance economic activities daily. Today, WhiteBIT's services are used by more than 4.5 million users from 150 countries, which has sparked interest in expanding their operations to countries at the beginning of adopting these types of transactions.

Minister Damjanović stressed the necessity of properly and transparently regulating this field in Montenegro, ensuring the protection of users' interests and establishing a legal framework for the crypto industry's development. He recognised the active involvement of Montenegro's relevant authorities in this area and the significant contribution of companies like WhiteBIT to successful system regulation.

Both parties agreed to continue their discussions through a formalized initiative for further cooperation, particularly in terms of expert and advisory support in creating the prerequisites for regulating this type of business.
