Mitsotakis congratulates Abazović on his appointment as Prime Minister

Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis congratulated Dritan Abazović on his appointment as Prime Minister of Montenegro.

Dear Prime Minister,

On the occasion of your assumption of office as Prime Minister of Montenegro, I would like to extend my sincere congratulations and wishes for every success in your important mission.

In today's challenging international environment, strong and cordial relations between Greece and Montenegro, based on our common historical experiences and democratic values, significantly contribute to the stability and development of our wider region, and to the prosperity of our country and our people.

I would like to emphasise my commitment to work with you to further strengthen the cooperation of our countries in various fields and to promote our relations, among others, in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport and culture. Our joint participation in international organisations and regional initiatives offers an additional opportunity for bilateral cooperation and dialogue, which I look forward to.

I would like to express my satisfaction with your strong commitment to accelerating Montenegro's European path and intensifying reform efforts.

In line with its strong support for the European integration of the Western Balkans, Greece will continue to actively promote European path of Montenegro, as a reliable partner.

I look forward to meeting you in person to discuss all these issues, as well as to find a way to improve cooperation between our two countries.
