Montenegrin Students at the Regional Western Balkans Cyber Camp

Students from Montenegro participated in the third edition of the Western Balkans Cyber Camp, held from 8 to 10 May 2026 in Durrës, Albania. The Montenegrin delegation was led by Jovana Dedić, representative of the Cybersecurity Agency, and Prof. Dr. Savo Tomović, representative of the University of Montenegro.
The camp was organized by the Albanian National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK). During the three-day programme, participants attended interactive sessions dedicated to current cybersecurity topics, including AI-driven threats, disinformation, protection of critical infrastructure, cyber diplomacy, and the importance of regional cooperation.
A special segment of the programme was the “Capture The Flag” (CTF) competition, during which students solved practical tasks, analysed cyberattack scenarios, and enhanced their teamwork and cyber incident response skills.
Within the event, a panel discussion entitled “AI vs Human – Who Wins the Cyber War?” took place. The panel was moderated by Jovana Dedić, representative of the Cybersecurity Agency of Montenegro, and brought together participants from the academic community and CIRT teams across the region.
The discussion focused on the challenges posed by the rapid development of artificial intelligence in cyberspace, the critical role of human expertise in cyber defence, and the growing need for stronger regional cooperation.
The participation of Montenegrin students in this event represents a significant contribution to the development of young professionals and the strengthening of the regional network of future cybersecurity experts, with the aim of jointly enhancing cybersecurity across the Western Balkans.
