Montenegro has an obligation to bring back good news from the Western Balkans

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Ranko Krivokapić met with the Ambassador of the French Republic, Christian Thimonier. Interlocutors discussed historical ties that connect the two countries, as well as perspectives of co-operation in the light of the election of the new Montenegrin Government.

They noted the change which the new Government brings and the obligation to bring back good news from Montenegro and with it, help to the entire Western Balkans.

Krivokapić and Thimonier assessed that it is necessary to intensify political dialogue, through organizing visits at a high level, in order to additionally improve relations between Montenegro and France. This is especially important because of the partnership within NATO and the support of official Paris for the European integration of our country. The key importance of the rule of law was emphasized as a precondition for the membership.

The interest of France in encouraging investments in Montenegro was expressed in order for cooperation to receive a new dimension and contribute to understanding and trust.
