The Montenegrin health system received another valuable donation from the Federal Republic of Germany. After the recent donation of protective equipment worth over 600,000 euros, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Montenegro, Dr. Robert Weber handed over a donation of 72,000 rapid antigen tests - worth almost 300,000 euros – to Minister of Health Jelena Borovinić Bojović.

"This is another proof of great solidarity and friendship between the two countries and between our country and the European Union, and another step further on the way to overcoming the existing epidemiological problem, " said Minister Borovinić Bojović, expressing gratitude to the German Ambassador and Germany for the valuable donation.

She pointed out that fast antigen tests will be very useful in the upcoming tourist season.

"I want to use this opportunity to invite the citizens of Germany and other countries from the region and beyond to visit Montenegro, because the conditions for their arrival in our country are safe. This was officially confirmed to us from an important address, from the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, which informed us that Montenegro has been moved from the list of high-risk countries to a better category of countries that offer safer conditions for tourists," said Borovinić Bojović.

The Minister of Health again called on the citizens to get vaccinated, as well as to continue to respect the measures because these are the two most important ways to overcome the existing epidemiological situation and return to normal life.

The German Ambassador said that 72 thousand fast antigen tests arrived, with the help of the German Technical Institute.

"Montenegro is preparing for the upcoming tourist season, and has also positioned itself on the market as a safe country in terms of the fight against coronavirus. As such, it offers visitors the necessary testing to return to their home country. It is an excellent step of the Government of Montenegro and an excellent offer for tourists in Montenegro. Therefore, we are very happy to be able to support Montenegro with this donation to prepare for the upcoming tourist season. This is a further contribution of German solidarity, within the framework of European solidarity for Montenegro," Weber said.
