The Montenegrin Cabinet, at today's session, adopted a Decision on the establishment of a new European Integration Committee with the aim of more efficient monitoring of the implementation of obligations from the negotiation process and the application of the cluster approach in the context of the revised accession methodology.

The tasks of the Committee include participation in drafting the Montenegro's Programme of Accession to the European Union and monitoring its implementation, as well as monitoring the preparation and implementation of the Plan for the translation of the acquis communautaire and professional translation editing, as well as verification of other issues and materials relevant to European integration.

Chief Negotiator Zorka Kordić pointed out that the formation of the new Committee will contribute to better coordination of affairs from the EU agenda, and thus ensure more efficient work on addressing all obligations and achieving concrete, measurable results in the negotiation process.

By forming a new European Integration Committee, we are completing the work on finalising the negotiating structure that will carry out the reform processes necessary for EU accession, the Chief Negotiator said.
