New encouraging messages are coming from Brussels, indicating that Montenegro can be a successful EU story, as conveyed during the meeting between Prime Minister Milojko Spajić and Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Gert Jan Koopman.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around the status of the implementation of remaining interim benchmarks in the rule of law, which will form the basis for the Interim Benchmark Assessment Report (IBAR), anticipated to be obtained in June.

We are determined to bring all processes to completion and fulfill the remaining obligations with clearly defined deadlines for those interim benchmarks where there are certain challenges, the Prime Minister posted on X.

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić is currently in Brussels. He is scheduled to address members of the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) on 16 April. This invitation comes from the AFET Chair, David McAllister, in collaboration with the co-chair of the EU-Montenegro Stabilisation and Association Parliamentary Committee (SAPC) Vladimír Bilčík.
