Danilo Potpara, Head of the Sector for Professional Supervision of the Implementation of Information Security Measures, participated as a panellist at the IT Spot 2026 conference.

During the panel discussion “From Regulation to Business: Cybersecurity as a Business Obligation,” he explained that the Cybersecurity Agency of Montenegro conducts professional supervision to assess whether key and important entities implement information security measures and how effective these measures are in practice.

Professional supervision aims to verify whether an entity implements information security measures, manages risks, and protects its data, systems, and essential services.

“The Agency urges all key and important entities to communicate and cooperate with us as partners in this process. Our goal is not just to check if obligations are met, but also to help entities strengthen their ability to protect their services through supervision, advice, sharing experience, and working together”, Potpara said.

He observed that professional supervision activities to date reveal a tendency to treat the implementation of information security measures as the sole responsibility of individual departments, rather than as an organisation-wide management priority. He further emphasised the importance of active management engagement in driving the implementation of information security measures across the entire organisation.

The IT Spot 2026 conference was held in Podgorica, organised by the non-governmental organisation ICT Cortex, under the slogan “Shaping Digital Montenegro.”
