Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vesna Bratić, and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Aleksandar Stijović, during their working visit to the Municipality of Nikšić, met with representatives of Nikšić local self-government, led by Municipality President Marko Kovačević and President of Municipal Assembly Nemanja Vuković.

Prime Minister Krivokapić said that the task of the new government and local self-government is to offer the citizens of Nikšić new economic perspectives based on sustainable, ecological principles that are a European trend and represent the future of the region.

The Prime Minister told the local government that any progress that happens in Nikšić will be felt in the whole of Montenegro, adding that the Government of Montenegro is ready to support all healthy projects.

President of the Municipality of Nikšić Marko Kovačević expressed satisfaction with the Prime Minister's decision to visit Nikšić at this very moment, adding that he hopes that the Municipality will have a partner in the Government, which will show an understanding for the many local problems that have been inherited.

Municipality President Kovačević informed PM Krivokapić about the situation in Željezara (Montenegrin steel producer) and Metalac, as well as the lack of mechanisms at the local level in order to contribute to the improvement of the situation in these companies.

"Local self-government is facing the problem of creating new jobs. The administration needs to be 'strengthened' with new jobs in the real economy," Kovačević said.
