Press release regarding “delivery” operation

At the initiative of the Coordination Body for the Harmonisation and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision, an extensive coordinated operation targeting delivery service providers was carried out across the territory of the Capital City of Podgorica on 14 – 15 May, with a special focus on the consistent implementation of legal regulations in the areas of labour relations, the tax system, sanitary and hygiene conditions and traffic safety.

The operation involved the tax inspection, sanitary inspection and labour inspection authorities, which jointly conducted a total of 63 inspections. During the inspections, 19 irregularities were identified, while 36 misdemeanour orders were issued, with total financial penalties amounting to EUR 59,400.

Among the most significant irregularities identified were the lack of sanitary booklets, failure of delivery workers to undergo mandatory health and sanitary examinations, failure to issue fiscal receipts, as well as irregularities related to labour relations and employee records. Violations that may directly endanger public health and consumer rights, given the nature of the activity, are of particular concern, which involves food distribution and daily contact with a large number of customers.

The Coordination Body emphasised that there will be zero tolerance for entities operating contrary to the law, especially in sectors that directly affect public health, safety and the protection of citizens’ rights. These coordinated activities represent a strong institutional response to the grey economy, irresponsible business practices and attempts to evade legal obligations.

The competent inspection authorities will continue intensified and coordinated inspections throughout Montenegro in the coming period, sending a clear message that compliance with the law is not a matter of choice but an obligation for every business entity.

The Coordination Body also expressed special gratitude to the officers of the Police Directorate for their professional conduct, efficient cooperation and assistance provided during the implementation of this demanding coordinated operation.
