Prime Minister in Nikšić: Construction of new fire station commences

Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, alongside President of the Municipality of Nikšić Marko Kovačević, President of the Municipal Assembly Nemanja Vuković, and the Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service Slavko Tadić, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new fire station in Nikšić.

If anyone deserves to receive a new facility, it is the firefighters of Nikšić. This is not only a responsible gesture towards the citizens of Nikšić but also towards the profession. Therefore, let the construction of this home be a symbol of uplifting and strengthening the position of firefighters and rescuers throughout the country, stated the Prime Minister.

President of the Municipality of Nikšić Marko Kovačević emphasised that the service upon which lives depend deserves an adequate and representative facility. He highlighted that this is one of the first projects that the Municipality will undertake in the coming period and expressed gratitude to the Government of Montenegro and the Directorate for Capital Projects for their overall support.

President of the Nikšić Municipal Assembly Nemanja Vuković added that the construction of the Protection and Rescue Service facility is a demonstration of gratitude from the Municipality and the state towards this crucial service.

Commander of the Protection and Rescue Service Slavko Tadić spoke about the significance of building the new fire station, stating that it will resolve the longstanding issue of accommodating personnel and equipment of the Protection and Rescue Service in Nikšić, ultimately enhancing their efficiency.

This construction will ensure a quality space for firefighting and emergency response units involved in disaster relief efforts and natural disaster situations.

The total value of the construction works is €3,300,000.00, with the total cost of Phase I construction amounting to €693,544.249, including VAT.

The completion deadline for Phase I construction is set at three months from the commencement of the contractor's work.
