Prime Minister Spajić discusses Nikšić Steel Plant development with POSCO Group Vice President

During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Prime Minister Milojko Spajić engaged in discussions with the Vice President of the POSCO Group, Jaewan Lee.

The Prime Minister highlighted investment opportunities and conveyed that the government, through a series of reforms, is working to ensure a predictable business environment and legal certainty. "Through planned reforms, we are improving the business climate to give a significant boost to our economy in collaboration with credible investors," stated Spajić.

He presented the development plan for the network of highways, railways, airports, and the Port of Bar until 2030. There is considerable interest from POSCO, considering the anticipated high demand for steel, accompanied by substantial investments.

The meeting addressed investments in the Nikšić Steel Plant, and POSCO expressed interest in continuing communication regarding potential collaboration. The Vice President mentioned POSCO's commitment to using cutting-edge technologies and renewable energy sources. "We witnessed the exponential development of Korea in the 80s and 90s, being a crucial part of a significant investment cycle in Korean infrastructure," he emphasised.

It was agreed during the meeting that teams from Montenegro and Korea would explore further steps and potential collaboration between the Korean giant and Montenegro's national energy company EPCG. POSCO Group owns one of the largest steel plants in South Korea.
