Minister of Foreign Affairs Ranko Krivokapić met with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Montenegro, H.E. Oana Cristina Popa.

At the meeting, interlocutors exchanged opinions on the current political moment and strongly apostrophized the expectation that a long period of stalemate and regression in certain areas of the process of European integration will be reversed by certain forward steps towards necessary reforms.

Interlocutors agreed that Montenegro must show dedication to real reforms in key areas in order to take the position of indisputable leader in the process of European integration.

Never more negative Progress Report of the European Commission, but also reports of our Euro-Atlantic partners are directly damaging the citizens of Montenegro. Only through real results and serious commitment of the 43rd Government, especially in the area of the rule of law, we can take advantage of the new focus of the EU on the Western Balkans and especially Montenegro as a potential first next member of the EU, Krivokapić said.
